Reflection on Week 1

In our discussions I learned how important it is that every believers need to know the past of Christianity. I found out three main negative results of being ignorant to our church history. And these results would be damaging to the life of a believer who doesn’t even have a glimpse to our history.
It’s a sad thing to admit that I myself as a Bible school student does only have a few information and knowledge about this. I believe that God doesn’t want me to be satisfied only to what I know. So my response to this is to learn as long as I can about God’s goodness, grace, and power in the past. I must discover how God worked in the lives of those Christians who gone before us.
In this case, the best thing to do is to take the subject “Church History” seriously. Pay attention to every discussions, lectures, and reports that will be held in the class. I will do my best on every assignments, requirements, and projects. I will also read more books about church history.

  1. I, myself also realized that I don't even have a knowledge of the things that happened in the past during the time that I took this subject. You're not alone in feeling that way! I had been blessed by the stories and the flipping back of pages of the life of the church fathers, it help me a lot now to stand still and believe more on God's faithfulness. That like how he had been faithful in the life of those people, I now believe he would do that same to me and I strongly believe also to you. Life and ministry while studying in BTC is never the same as life and ministry when you are out of school already. And those learnings in that subjects will be a constant reminder and a wonderful everyday encouragement to continue to press on no matter what the situation we are in. So I hope, you will really do your best on this subject just like how you say you will. Godbless you bunsoy!!! Missing you :-)
